Think Centre's Asian initiative has been launched in Bangkok.

Bringing his talent up north from Singapore, James Gomez has teamed up with his friends in Bangkok to develop a regional ntellectual network that is an all-action oriented organization.

Somphon Wongchanglaw, Kamtorn Sheepchaiisara and Tarradon Piampongsant are co-directors of the newly set up Think Centre (Asia). The group has been meeting several times over the last three months formulating a regional strategy to incorporate politics, information technology and youth.

To kick-off activities a website has been started (several parts still under construction) to connect young pro-democracy activists on a regional level. This will be followed by people to people meetings, exchange and activities at the regional level.

Think Centre (Singapore) and Think Centre (Asia) will run as parallel independent organisations while maintaining a sister organisation relationship.

James Gomez is scheduled to address the Foreign Correspondents Club, Thailand on 5 September 2001.
