Think Centre joins fellow Singaporeans in mourning the loss of Singapore's founding father of foreign diplomacy - S Rajaratnam.
Amongst the cohort of founding fathers of Singapore, Mr Rajaratnam stood out as a man of intellect, resolve and savviness with people. It was these same traits which empowered him in his appointment as the republic's foreign minister.
His belief in justice and equality was instrumental in the institutionalisation of multi-racialism as a central tenet of Singapore society. It was his foresight and sense of empathy for all Singaporeans which helped give birth to this nation.
In his own words, Singapore should aspire to become a hornet with a sting.
There was a time when people said that Singapore could not make it, but S. Rajaratnam made sure we did.
