The Singapore Working Group for ASEAN will commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 6 December 08 (Saturday).We would like to invite you to take part in a special celebration on 6th December 2008.

Theme: ASEAN economic integration - What is in it for Singaporeans during this economic gloom?

The Singapore Working Group for ASEAN will commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 6 December 08 (Saturday).

- What is the long-term impact of the financial crisis on Singaporeans?

- What are our economic rights as ASEAN citizens?

- How will the vision of a people-centred ASEAN be affected by this economic downturn?

Come hear and share your hopes and fears for a change in Singapore and ASEAN.

Activities would include presentations from the banking, labour, youth and NGO sectors, a photo exhibition and a parallel workshop focusing on the 2015 ASEAN's economic integration and what is in it for Singaporeans.

We would like to invite you to take part in a special celebration on 6th December 2008. This event is organized by The Singapore Working Group for ASEAN.

Around the world, every year, the United Nations' Human Rights Day is celebrated on the 10th December to mark the anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Here in Singapore - our government has ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) - we are commemorating this day with a special sharing session with individuals from various walks of life.
