Think Centre deplores the cruel decision by the Singaporean government to execute Roslan bin Bakar and Pausi bin Jefridin on Wednesday, 16 February.

We are appalled by the short notice of execution provided to their families residing outside of Singapore.

We are further appalled that persons of intellectual disability are being executed.

Think Centre opposes capital punishment in all circumstances, especially the mandatory death penalty for non-violent crimes in the case of drugs offences.

We reiterate that executing such vulnerable persons is a grievous mistake and will not deter drug crimes in Singapore.

The double executions are an abominable exemplification of capital punishment's cruel and inhumane nature.

We call on the Singapore government to halt the scheduled executions!
