James Gomez has formally resigned from The Roundtable of which he was a member. He has also made known his intention to the MediaWatch Community that he will no longer be one of their advisers.
Both these organisations are dictated by law (The Roundtable) and sub-culture (MediaWatch Community) to exclude members belonging to political parties.
With his announcement recently that he's considering party politics these resignations could be a precursor for the man who has graduated from student politics to non-governmental work to party politics.
Has he chosen the political party he wishes to join? Or have any opposition party invited him? If not, what do these resignations mean?
In the meantime, an informal poll conducted by Think Centre members indicate that Gomez's entry into opposition party politics will be seen to strengthen the movement for an alternative vision. James Gomez is currently in London for a series meetings where he has indicated that Singapore needs to develop a climate where new ideas can grow.
Gomez, who is known for surprises, will remain as Senior Director of Think Centre.
